Tck Tck Tck cuenta atrás para la humanidad

El pasado 20 de septiembre tuvieron lugar diferentes eventos a nivel mundial para llamar la atención de la Conferencia por el Cambio Climático que tendrá lugar el 12 de diciembre en Copenhague, en la que se reunirán mandatarios del mundo y las Naciones Unidas para debatir las posibles medidas que se pueden tomar al respecto. Por ello, se está tomando acción, todos debemos dar nuestra voz, decir que este mundo nos importa.

Oxfam America - Human Countdown: Climate Wake-up Call

La organización del evento corrió a cargo de Oxfam América, y tod@s eran voluntarios por la causa, la campaña la llaman Tck Tck Tck The Human Countdown. Diferentes ciudades contaron con la participación de centenares de voluntarios, que pretenden así demostrar que el planeta también es de nuestra incumbencia.

En la ciudad de Nueva York, asistieron centenares de personas, entre las que me incluyo. Llamaba la atención ver cuántos mayores, niños, adolescentes...formaban parte de manera activa y entusiasmados de lo que hacían: la figura de la tierra , simulando un reloj, mientras soportaban horas de sol y calor...Sin embargo, según palabras de uno de los voluntarios "it's not tough, volunteering and feeling so energetic people". Se puede leer más sobre lo que aconteció y el porqué de la acción en el blog de OA. Participar tampoco es tan difícil, y la satisfacción es enorme.

Technology and where are we going?

During this RSA presentation (starts on 11:00), lecturers make an analysis on where technology is transforming our society.  Some remarkable affirmations: "We decided to put all our information into a big grey box, and hope nobody is looking in." "Every single human being here has access to the internet" "Technology improves individual capacity more than social" "Teach people not answers, but how to ask questions" "We can't leave people off the hook" "Data, information and knowledge are different levels.
